Bingham Dental welcomes Dr Abdurahman (Abs) El-Awa to the team for 2026. Abs is a Consultant in Oral Surgery; he has extensive experience in Oral Surgery, and he has a special interest in Dental Implants, Bone Grafting procedures as well as providing sedation for the nervous dental patients. 

He qualified in 2003 in Cairo, then moved to the UK in 2006 aspiring a higher specialist training in Oral Surgery. Since then he trained at Glasgow at the Dental School and Glasgow Southern General Hospitals, Sheffield Dental School & University Hospitals and Royal Derby Hospitals completing postgraduate training and specialist clinical experience in Oral Surgery.

Abs is also a member of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England where he examines specialist surgeons.  Abs worked as a Consultant Oral Surgeon at Manchester Teaching Hospitals and currently he is a Consultant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Hon Senior Clinical Lecturer where he teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate dentists and dental students. 

Abs is part of the Oral Surgery Education group where they provide dental implants training, Oral Surgery Training as well as several courses in implants dentistry and advanced bone grafting, Sheffield University renowned one 2 one dental implant course, El-Awa Advanced Grafting Courses and Clinical Fellowship.

Abs also designs and manufactures his own surgical instruments in Sheffield’s city of steel where he is linked to Neville Instruments of Sheffield.
