Patient Safety Charter
At Bingham Dental, patient safety is always at the forefront of our minds. This focus extends to setting objectives, developing procedures, and purchasing new products and equipment. We cultivate an open and fair culture where team members can discuss workplace challenges in the best interests of our patients. Our patient safety practices include:
Adhering to the latest infection prevention guidelines, including those from NHS England.
Using single-use dental instruments or sterilising them after each use.
Decontaminating work areas, including the dental chair, handheld equipment, and cupboard handles, between patients.
Maintaining high personal hygiene standards, including clinical clothing and restricted jewellery wearing.
Monitoring the quality of practice water and disinfecting dental unit waterlines.
Handling and disposing of waste according to current regulations with appropriate carriers.
Seeking expert advice if a team member may have a bloodborne infection, ensuring they undergo an occupational health examination and follow the advice regarding their role in patient care.
Training all team members in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and following practice safeguarding procedures, which are regularly monitored and reviewed.
We operate a clinical governance system that uses integrated risk management to identify, assess, analyse, and manage all risks and incidents, aiming for continuous improvement in our care and service to you.
